My James

James is not super affectionate. Which is funny to me because I never even knew that since we cuddle, hold hands and stuff like that all the time. One day not long ago I figured out that he didn't love it but he does it because he knows I do. :)

Anyway so recently I came across this picture on Pinterest

So I send it to James. Now whenever I am sad, or annoyed, or he is in trouble he says... "your face, it needs my kisses!" and how can you be mad at that! LOL

He is so sweet and so good to me and I love him.

XOXO

Tissue Ball Decorations, a tutorial!

So some people have asked me how to make these cute balls I always hang from the ceiling at parties. (You can also make a super small one and attatch to a gift as a bow. That is really cute)

So you start with tissue paper cut into squares. Depending on how big your square is, that is how big your ball will be. How many sheets of paper you use will determine the fluffyness. I use 8 usually, Sometimes I do all the same color, sometimes different colors and patterns.... variety is good. (If I were doing a bow I wouls cut the sheet into 4th's and still use the same amount of paper to make a tiny SUPER fluffy ball)

Then fold into an accordian shape like this...

Secure it with pipe cleaner (you won't be able to see the pipe cleaner so if it does not match, thats ok) I like to cut the ends into a point. Sometimes I do a circle, and sometimes I leave it square

Then you siple seperate each of the tissue paper "pages". as you seperate them the ball will get fluffier. Kinda scrunch them and place them how you want. The ball doesn't need to be perfect.

And voila! tissue paper ball awesomeness.

Seriously, so cold.

I have the winter blues. Look at the temperature. Negative 5. Yikes. James and I went to Logan for the weekend. We don't have much money but we put together our date night money for the month and pawned some stuff so that we could have some special time together. Oh and it was a year ago today that we met. Awwwww. I even took Saturday off work, and let me tell you, it was a much needed break.

We stayed up all night and played pool. I won a couple times but only because of the 8 ball. :)

We played a little pinball too

We watched Honeymoon in Vegas and ate a lot of snacks. And Cuddled.

Breakfast in bed

Thanks for the fun weekend baby. I loves you!

Miss Ava turns 4

The night before ava's birthday I perfected the birthday cake pancakes so she would have a special breakfast on birthday morning. (I had to try two recipes because the first was way salty.)

the recipe I used.... link below.

Ingredients

For Pancakes:3/4 cups all purpose flour1/3 cup yellow cake mix2 teaspoons sugar1/2 teaspoon baking powderpinch of salt1 egg1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract1/2 to 1 cup milkassorted sprinkleswhipped cream and additional sprinkles for topping, optionalFor Glaze:1 cup powdered sugar1/2 tablespoon milk1/2 teaspoon vanilla extractassorted sprinkles

Directions

Combine flour, cake mix, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl and mix. Add 1/2 cup of milk, egg and vanilla extract and stir until smooth. You want the batter to look like regular pancake batter; not too thin, not too thick. This will vary greatly on the brand of cake mix you use. Start with 1/2 cup of milk and add more if needed.Preheat a skillet on medium heat. Fold desired amount of sprinkles into batter. Pour batter in 1/4 cup measurements onto skillet and let cook until bubbles form on top, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for 1 minute more. Serve with vanilla glaze. To Make Glaze:Mix milk, extract and powdered sugar until glaze forms. You may need to add a little more sugar or water/milk to reach desired consistency. Mix into glaze and drizzle on pancakes.

After work I picked up the cake and headed home. james took Ava to get mcDonalds for the kids because ava loves McDonald's. while they were gone the boys and I decorated. I had been making decorations all week. One of my favorite parts was the cotton candy drinks. I put a little cotton candy in clear plastic cups then poured sprite over the top. The kids were so impressed. :)

We also had candy necklaces and ring pops instead of party hats.

The theme was a candy party. Lots of candy, and lots of colors. It was insane. But fun.

Ok here are all the pics.

James hanging the pinata

You can see the cups of cotton candy here. Also Ava had a wand a made out of those huge pixie sticks

SO MUCH candy

Some decorations

More decorations.

I love the tissue balls they are cheap and easy and cute. I make them for every party

I added my own decorations to the pinata because it originally had a "1st birthday" sticker on it.

Me and a bunch of crazy kids.

James and Ava, sweet.

I didn't take a very good picture of the cake. Everything was really rushed

blowing out the candles

Me with my cotton candy drink.

I want all of you, forever.

There was one night James and I were in Logan, and I was going through some hard times. We cuddled all night and watched the notebook (I had never seen it before). This is one of my best moments. This quote from the movie has always reminded me of us. Because I'm a little crazy and very emotional, and James can be.... less than sensitive. But we have a lot of love, and passion. I still get butterflies when he walks in a room. He makes me smile like no one else can. And I am just so much in love. I think about this all the time, and it was on my mind a lot today. I am lucky to have this love in my life.

New Year's Eve

We stayed home, watched the ball drop, played Monopoly, made smoothies, drank sparkling cider and kissed happily at midnight.

Here is to 2013. I love you baby. XOXO
