A date with my hottie

James and I went on a date bowling this week. It was fun even if the place was kinda ghetto!

Then I made a celebration cake. I'll tell you later what I'm celebrating.

Better than sex cake...
(it was good but not THAT good)

V-Day Part 2

Twillight the meadow! James and I had so much fun on out Valentines Day get away. I really enjoyed this room, and although it wasn't James' favorite, I think he kinda liked it too!

I am so lucky to be with a man who is my best friend and who I love being with!

We went to dinner, played chess (we didn't finish the game but I was totally winning!) The chess pieces were vampires and warewolves. Then we watched Harry Potter. We are almost done now with our Harry Potter marathon. Maybe I can get James to watch Vampire Diaries with me next!

Our Valentine's Party!

I know this should be normal accomplishments, but this weekend I felt so productive. I planned a party, made a full dinner every day, worked all of my shift, had family home evening and took 4 kids to church. (Did I mention we have all 4 kids on Sunday now, and I LOVE it.)  Our Valentines Day Party was so fun. I've really been focusing on having our family home evenings be really relevant and fun, so that is doesn't just feel like a lesson. Especially since we do it on Sunday after church and they just sat through all of that. So this week I had our family home evening topic on "love one another" we made hearts out of pipe cleaner and they are suppose to do something nice for someone and leave the heart they made. We played "Don't eat cupid" which is their favorite party game. I threw in some scriptures and stories, then we had our dinner.
The dinner idea I got from the Dating Divas   which is seriously like the best website ever.
Here is the setup with their little valentines treats.

Menu... More about that later!

My heart cake. When I saw purple frosting I HAD to get it for Josh. Which overflowed in the oven but tasted delicious.

Don't eat cupid which is like "don't eat Pete" which we played when we were kids. google it. (this is the kids' FAVE game and they always ask for it.)
Did I mention we had crowns?

Here is how the dinner went.... each person got to fill out a menu. the menu choices were things like "lovin'" "huggin'" "cuddlin'" etc. Each choice was a corresponding food item, (salad, fork, turkey, cake etc.) then I served them what they ordered for each course.

Dinner Pics

So, for my appitizer I got a drink (cherry 7 up) and salad. My main dish was mashed potatos, cake, chocolate covered strawberries and turkey. My dessert was a fork/napkin and a roll. So that means I ate all of my dinner with my hands since I didn't get a fork. You'd think as the creator of the game I would have done better! HAHAHA

Jordans went like this : Appetizer: mashed potatoes and drink Main Course: Salad, turkey, fork/napkin, roll Dessert: cake and strawberries.

Ava: appetizer, Fork/napkin and turkey Main dish: Strawberries, roll, cake and mashed potatoes.  Dessert: Salad and drink

Josh: Appitizer: Fork/napkin, turkey Main Dish: Drink, salad, mashed potaoes, roll Dessert: Cake and strawberries

Carter: Appetizer: Salad and Drink Main Dish: Cake, roll, Fork/napkin, mashed potatoes Dessert: Chocolate Strawberries and turkey

I *love* love

So lucky to have such a hot Valentine. :-)

First I made heart shaped cinnamon rolls (recipe from pinterest, link here http://pinterest.com/pin/191262315396977165/)

Rhodes Rolls (I let thaw a little then re rolled in the heart shape) + Vanilla Cook and Serve pudding + butter = yummmmmmmm

They lost the heart shape a little while baking but they were still delish. I still like Orange Rolls better.

For Valentines Day I made James paper fortune cookies with reasons why I love him inside.

I added some chocolate too for good measure.

I also got him some Gucci Cologne

Which is funny cause he got me perfume! (and a card, and Anniversary Inn next week. Can't wait!)

We ate chinese food (to go with my fortune cookies, haha) Then did some shopping and went home for dessert. I made a red velvet poke cake.

(red velvet cake (bake per directions), poke holes(while warm)  and pour 2 boxes of cheesecake pudding mixed with 4 cups of milk on top. make sure it goes in the holes. Put in fridge for 2 hours. Spread a tub of cool whip on top and about 10 oreos crushed sprinkled on top.

Overall a fantastic night with my love
XOXO

Our new house!

So we have been in our new house almost 2 weeks now. I got sick at the same time we were moving so the getting settled has been a longer process than anticipated. In fact I am still feeling sick and exhaused, it has been hard to do all the extra stuff.

There are a few simple things that make me so happy about our new house.

*Taking the garbage out. and getting the mail* No more walking out to a dumpster or a community mailbox. I love that taking the garbage out and getting the mail no longer requires a coat or even shoes. And I love having a recycle box.

Cute mailbox huh?

My kitchen is so much more "user friendly" I never wanted to cook or bake at the apartment because the kitchen was awful. Now I make dinner every night and I usually make a dessert too!

Speaking of dessert. I discovered a recipe that is T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Cake Batter Rice Crispy Treats

Here is the link to the pin http://pinterest.com/pin/191262315397135505/

3 Tbsp. butter, 1 (10 oz.) bag of mini-marshmallows, 1/3 cup yellow cake mix (the dry cake mix, not prepared into a batter!) 6 cups crispy rice cereal 1 (1.75 oz.) container of sprinkles Method: Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat and add marshmallows. Stir until they begin to melt, adding in (dry) cake mix one spoonful at a time so its combined. Stir in cereal and let set.

James, Carter and I ate the whole pan. In one night. Yikes!

So in celebration of our new house we had an at home date night this weekend.

Apple Cider

Watched Batman

And ate banana cream pie!
